Has anyone out there replaced their OEM radiator with an aftermarket aluminum radiator??? If so, from who and how did it fit?? I'm a little worried that modifications will have to be done to make an aftermarket fit.
A recore job will cost about $450. Alum. radiators are selling for about $200. Restoration is not my goal but functionality is.
Mine isn't leaking yet, but is showing some green areas on the corners, so there are some weak spots.
I'm getting the AC fixed and with these 100 degree summers here in Ks., I'm afraid it might test the cooling system too much. I'm having all the hoses and belts replaced so I want to do it all at once.
Anyone have input?
Thanks Tom B

Wow Scott. You got a deal!. I would have jumped on that to keep the original look but my budget always gets in the way.
The aluminum radiator worked out ok. The mechanic had to cut a little clearance out of the shroud for one of the tran coolant lines but that's it. Its worked well, even running the AC in this 90+ degree Ks weather.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I ordered one off EPAY. Will let you know how it works out.

OPGI is listing an original style one for $398.89. They often have discounts on shipping etc, but do not see anything other than their "sale" on the radiator itself. These are not the easiest items to ship and looked up shipping if I were to order and it would come to almost $70 which is not that far off what I might have to charge someone to ship a good used one (if I had one) depending on their location. Here is the link: http://www.opgi.com/cadillac/1963/cooling-heating/radiators/CE05522/
I would also go through Hemmings Motor News. If you can find a supplier nearby you may be able to save on shipping, and may be better and cheaper sources for complete repro radiators.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
