Our Carolina Region Newsletter Editor Travis Dowell turned the spotlight on himself (very deservedly I might add) and discussed some of his estimated 50 Cadillacs in the last newsletter. That got me to thinking it might be fun to list Cadillacs other than 63's and 64's that we have owned or still own. It gives someone insight into someone else's association with the Cadillac Brand.
Here is my list:
1982 Coupe DeVille - Silver - sold years ago
1991 Brougham DeElegance - White with red leather interior (changed vinyl top to Burgandy Later) - sold probably 10+ years ago.
1995 Flleetwood Brougham - (95/96 Fleetwoods are the best riding Cadillacs Ever! ...my opinion and sticking with it) - sold about 7 years ago. bought from one owner older couple when it had 66K miles and drove until it had probably about 130K miles. Cheryl had been using it as a daily driver and being longer and wider than the 63/64 Cadillacs (but not heavier of course) and not the greatest on gas mileage for her, and things starting to have to be replaced (read window regulators!) it was time to sell but would love to find another low mileage 95/96 Fleetwood Brougham.
2002 Escalade EXT - Black - has 91K miles and is my daily driver. have added 22" vogue rims, headers, dual exhaust, power chip, DVD headrests, etc. I've always had trucks and when I sold my last Chevy truck knew I had to have the Cadillac of Trucks. Extremely versatile vehicle. LIke the Avalance, has sealed rear section, rear side locking tool boxes, rear wall that opens up to extend into the cab for hauling large items.
OK...what other Cadillacs besides 63's and 64's have you owned? Tell us something about them if you like.

Adjusting the TV rod out all the way is most likely the problem. Look in the shop manual for the procedure to properly adjust the TV rod and Throttle linkage. The transmission will never shift properly unless you adjust the TV rod and throttle linkage by the shop manual procedure.
With the TV rod pulled forward all the way, the transmission thinks the throttle is wide open and keeping the transmission in the lower ranges.

Colin, that's a pretty tight range of Caddies (62 to 72). I'm becoming more and more a fan of the 61 & 62...and maybe one day!...LOL
My first car was a 1977 Sedan DeVille.I bought from a salvage yard in 1986 for $500 and it had 170,000 miles on it.Still makes laugh when I think about the reaction I got from people when they asked what kind of car I got, their jaws drop, eyes pop open and exclaim "YOU GOT A CADILLAC".
That's quite a collection, Rob!
My every day Cadillac is a 2008 CTS Diamond White fully loaded. My first classic is my Green '64 Coupe DeVille Series 63. I'm going this weekend to look at White '57 Coupe DeVille which just might become my second Caddy...if that one is not as expected there is a '58 Coupe DeVille that I've been looking at as well!!! I grew up with '67 Sedan Deville, '73 Sedan DeVille and finally a 77 Sedan DeVille.
My first Cadillac was a '63 Series 62 convertible. The second one was a '76 Coupe de Ville that I bought as a winter beater and ended up driving it for 3 years. I currently own a '64 Coupe de Ville and a '93 sedan de Ville
Ruben the CTS-V has me salivating!
My first Cadillac was my '63. I've had it since 1995. When I was 15 I wanted to buy a 1961 Convertible that was in primer with a red and white leather interior. I wanted to restore it but my father, a car dealer, wouldn't hear of it. For one thing, it wasn't a Ford.
My next Cadillac was a 1984 Seville. It was a remarkably good car for what it was. It was also my first car with a Bose system. I bought it in about 1996. I think it had about 140,000 miles when I sold it and it still had the original, unopened HT4100.
My last Cadillac was a 1991 Eldorado Biarritz. It was in white diamond with a red leather interior. The thing even had factory gold package. From the outside it didn't look much like something I'd drive. I'm just not your gold package kind of guy. But... from the inside..... WOW. I loved that little car. I still think the 4.9 was one of the best engines made. It got decent MPG, great MPG on the highway, and performance and handling were terrific. When I sold it the only thing really wrong was that the opera lamps didn't work anymore. It had over 185,000 miles and was still going strong. It did tend to burn up starters about every 50,000 miles though because of proximity to the exhaust. We had a fluke snow storm one winter while I was up in north Texas. Everyone else was slipping and sliding off the road. I made it back to Houston. All that weight up front has advantages!
Yeah, I think Mary Lee has the best history!

Hey! I’ve seen the 63/64 power booster and master cylinder combination has been covered very clearly. I’m in the process of replacing mine. I was hoping someone could give me insight on a specific…Continue

I meant to make this a priority over the winter and didn't get that far. I've tried to source all the parts individually, but that is a daunting task. Partly because I don't want to miss any…Continue

Hello, possibly looking a neutral safety switch for a 1964 Deville with the TH-400 and tilt steering. Also, possibly looking for an oil filter housing assembly for a 1964 429 motor. Starting to get…Continue

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
