convertible pump

Posted on June 21, 2015 at 10:40am 4 Comments

Does anyone know which connection on the pump is used for the lower connection of the ram for the convertible hood. There is a connection on the side of the trunk and a connection on the side of the rear seat. One of the hydraulic lines has a hooked connection and i guess that goes to the lower connection of the ram. love to hear from you.

Number one and number six cylinders are at top dead center at the very same time
The only difference in the engine running as it should ,is the valve timing for each cylinder
Looks like you have the rotor ,180 degrees out , as Russ says

even though the part looks pretty rusted it is actually fairly solid.   The nut that hold the body to the frame was turning si I just tried to cut the nut off, my mistake.  I was not trying to salvage the part at that time just wanted to get it off the frame and out of the way.  It was after this that I found your post to Jason and my reaction was OH Crap!! I just cut up the part he wanted.  My plan is to cut out the section on the other side to see how the contours match and if it looks feasable to cut, fit and grind the outside of the part smooth.  Or I can send it to you and you can do the same.  Either way you will get the bolt down area off the drivers side welded in or loose.  I will need your address if you want the part, don't know how to receive money by PayPal even though I use it to buy a lot of my parts online.  Not really wanting you or me to post address and e-mail on facebook so if you know a way let me know.  Don't really trust social media that much with my personal stuff. Do you still need the body to frame bracket?  I finally got the old body up on a slab where I can get to it.  Unfortunately I was thinking that you needed the part that ran up the door instead of underneath the body.  Saw the picture where you showed Jason the Swiss cheese part.  Mine is good but I cut into the area where the body bolt goes.  It can be repaired though and can do that here before it goes to the Netherlands..  If you still need it I can cut it to where you can use the part of the inner rocker panel that is also missing on yours.  I don't want to go any further if you don't need it anymore.  I can send photos if you still want the part.  FYI: All I want dollar wise is reimbursement on shipping charges

If your replacing the main bearings, might as well have peace of mind, and redo the whole motor. Its not that far off from the bearings.

Lower Front End Ball Joints

Posted by Logan Robb on May 11, 2023 at 9:04am 7 Comments

Good Morning all!

I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…

1964 power steering sector rebuild

Posted by CHRIS CARLSON on March 20, 2023 at 11:32pm 3 Comments

I'm having my steering sector rebuilt, and considering changing it from 20-1 ratio 4.2 turns lock to lock to 3.5 turns lock to lock @ 16-1 ratio, If i change from a 3 1/4" box to a 3" box i could have a 14-1 Ratio steering response would be faster, shorter distance to turn the wheel to get a response,   has anyone done this? and how do you like it? thank you
