I'm currently rounding up parts for a heater core replacement in my 1964 Deville.  I'm looking for replacement hoses that connect to the heater core itself.  It's a factory a/c car and has the metal cooling return tube  These two links give some help, but I was hoping for confirmation that these are correct or any other available options.  Thanks for the help

On my 63 CDV I bought correct diameter heater hoses that have a 90 degree Bend molded into them. They are available in different lengths that can be trimmed to fit. They look good and don't kink. I buy coolant hoses from NAPA.

OK, finally back to this project, after dealing with a broken hand for 6 months.  I do have the cooling system version with the hard water pipe 8.866.  I'm trying to find hoses to replace 1479723 and 148129.  My car is not a concours quality, but a solid cruiser so I'm just looking for suggestions to make it work other than the correct part numbered ones for $110 each.  I do have gates  19622 which is the equivalent to autozone C88368 from this thread.

Hose 1482129 looks to be a 5/8  with a 90 and a small kick,   Thanks for any suggestions  for when I go looking at the parts house.  Thanks

Hoses, etc. from water outlet pipe to the heater core are 5/8" diameter. 
Hoses, etc. from heater core to water pump are 3/4" diameter.
So, 1479723 is 3/4" and 148129 is 5/8"

As noted in the referenced link the Gates #19037 would be a good substitute for the 148129 5/8" hose at lower heater core connection however it provides considerable more length than needed but you would end up with a good length of extra 5/8" heater hose for other uses. You could literally use 90 or near 90 degree 5/8" heater hose. Personally, I would just go to your NAPA or other auto store and ask to see the 5/8" heater hoses on hand with a bend. This would be true fo the upper 3/4" hose with a slighter bend at each end.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
