Good day to all, been a long time, missed the website and many posts I'm sure.  Nearing the end of renovations gone wild.  Thanks to Russ and all who keep this site going, I much appreciate it and will come to more I'm sure.

A while back I posted about compression issues with brake booster, which was affecting the engine and carb adjustments,

We have isolated what we believe to be a leak in the booster.  Also my mechanic friends seems to think the booster is small for this size car.  He does not have a fitting to test compression on the booster.  Having not driven my baby for 2 years, its getting frustrating.  Worse is my mechanic abilities.

What is a good aftermarket brake booster and how do I know I'm getting the right one, does anyone have a part number for given brand?

Hi Rick,

Did you check available brake booster with:

http://www.cadillacpartsltd.com/index.html

Remco Waller

I will look now.  So far new set with master cylinder is all I find from Summit.

Someone suggested the existing 8" is too small for this size vehicle, suggested dual diaphragm 9".  Also mentioned the master cylinder is sized to the booster, so get both to be safe.

Thank yoo

cadillacpartsltd has just a rebuild kit.  Thanks again for suggestion.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
