HELP! I've got a 1963 Series 62 convertible with about 140,000 miles on it. I developed a trans leak . I took it to the shop I use that specializes in classic cars, but they are less familiar with this transmission. They indicate it is relatively rare (few cars, few years). They are going to engage a transmission shop to take a look at it and do any repairs. They are concerned about getting parts for it, and that if they break into it and it needs more than just simple repairs and asked if I'd consider a transmission swap to a more modern transmission.
I'd like to control my cost, and while my car is no concourse car, I love having it. I did not notice the transmission slipping. The noticed some slipping, but that could be related to the lower fluid level from the leak. The leak appeared suddenly (no leak to puddle after not driving for a few days)
I'd love to get some advice.
1. Anyone have a source of a known good transmission? (I know it will be $$ to ship)
2. Any thoughts on source for parts for the unit?
3. Any thoughts on fix or replace (i.e., likey major issues or likely easy fix - I know there is no real way to know, but generally how well do these hold up?)
3. Any thoughts or recommendation for a replacement trans. If I go this route, I'd want to go with something that facilitates an engine swap if I ever want to put in LS or similar in in the future.
Any thoughts or experience in this area much appreciated!

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
