1963 Tailight/Backup Light Replacement instructions

I recently asked a question about fixing my taillight’s backup bulb sockets and got some useful information here. I got the lights generally working by messing with the spring in the existing socket and stabilizing the bulbs with toothpicks, but they still were not fully dependable. I ended up replacing the sockets. I thought it would be worth sharing the process I used. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures along the way, but they would be tough to take in the cramped spaces. I do have a…See More

Tailight connector

I've reworked my tail/brake/backup lights on my 1963 Series 62 convertible, but the wire connectors from the trunk to behind the license plate are just not dependable. I've tried cleaning the leads, bending the leads, and a host of other cleaning and mechanical adjustments, but they just won't stay snug and electrically connected.I'm looking for an replacement connector set. It looks like connectors similar to the original are not available anywhere. I suspect the best solution is either to…See More

1963 Eldorado convertible boot

Posted by Les Eastling on February 27, 2020 at 10:33am 1 Comment

I need a used convertible boot for a 63 Cadillac convertible - condition or color is not an issue since it will be used as a pattern for making a new one. One from either a 62 series convertible or an Eldorado would work. I know I am searching for hen's teeth here... but you never know unless you ask!
