Gents, good morning!

I’m looking for advice on how to fix the A/C Power Servo on my 1964 Cadillac Deville. The unit itself seems to be working correctly, but the vacuum actuator is leaking off. Has anyone had luck finding/replacing just the vacuum actuator or is there a way to repair the original one that’s leaking? I’m referring to the large black & silver vacuum actuator, not the 7 port valve.

I would be interested in purchasing a good used unit too if the price is fair.

Thx - Jacob

Hi Jacob - Cadillac Tim replaced the vacuum actuator on my '70 Cad's AC servo a while back.  Works great.  You can find him at http://www.cadillactim.com.  He also publishes a great series of books, one for each year, that describe in detail how to trouble shoot the '64 thru '80 Comfort Control systems.

Happy Motoring!

Hi Jacob,

I agree with Bernie - Cadillac Tim replaced the actuator on my Servo as well.  It is a little smaller in size but works great.  I don't think I'd recommend a NOS one (on eBay for example), due to the age of the rubber.  I also purchased his '64 Comfort Control book.  He is highly recommended!

Another satisfied customer,

Linda

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
