Hi all,
Picked up the Caddy on May 29th in Miami and drove to Ocala, FL to visit a good friend who used to live in Curaçao. Have taken the opportunity to test everything out on the Deville before the long trip to San Marcos, TX.
Headed out to Mobile, Alabama on I-10 West on the 31st. Had the oil and filter changed in Tallahassee, FL. Checking all fluids, belts, battery and tires.
Had some fun time in New Orleans. Attracting lots of onlookers and giving me the tumbs up Cajun style!
Driving over the great Mississippi River in Baton Rouge, Louisiana took the Deville to great heights.
At the moment in Beaumont, TX. The Deville drives strong with no problems so far, keeping it at 60 to 65 mph on the road. Will be going to Houston later on.
With 824 miles driven so far in two days gasoline ain't the cheapest fuel for these cars. Spending $100 a day!

Have a safe fun trip!
Thanks for documenting the road trip. An adventure I want to do someday.
Someday again I should say. I drove from Michigan to Austin TX back in 1989 with my first 63.
Not going this time. I want to drive, so hopefully New mexico, AZ, or Cali will be soon, for the new nationals.
The 2018 CLC National Driving tour is in California. Looks like a great driving tour. Check it out at https://www.cadillaclasalleclub.org/events/event_list.asp
It would be great to get a Chapter member to participate in a Driving Tour and document for a Newsletter Article. I am planning on doing the 2019 DT in PA. I will also do the Fall Festival this year so there are 2 new adventures for me on the horizon.
Another day of driving in Texas. Took the scenic route along the coast of Bolivar Peninsula. Lot's of houses on stilts including the school and church that are high above ground.
Had to wait in line for 2 hours for boarding the ferry and disembark in Galveston, TX. With a summer heat above 100F, the Deville took it without a sweat.
Took a break in Galveston, enjoying the many sights along the coast that was congested with people. Houston on the other hand was congested with a lot of vehicles and I mean a lot! We really had a hard time keeping up with traffic but these cars are strong in acceleration. We made it through without a scratch but the Deville had a good workout. Next stop San Marcos, TX.
I'm always looking to attend a car show and the Cars & Coffee at Woodlands, TX wasn't a disappointment . Vehicles of all types and years were present and the Deville was the only Cadillac present. Got a lot of attention seeing the Deville came from the Caribbean and driving all the way from Miami, FL (1250 miles and still counting).
After the show we took the scenic cross country roads to Austin, TX avoiding the heavy traffic and enjoying the beautiful Texas landscape.
Arrived in San Marcos, TX and it looks like I'm the first to arrive with a classic Cadillac. Hope to see more in the coming days.
Congrats on the safe arrival!
I'd love to see more members put stuff like this on the forum.
I just love seeing cool Cadillac's getting driven.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
