1964 Comfort Control

A question for the Comfort Control Gurus.I recently pulled my glove box tray out to clean and fix a crack. While I was in there, I noted this gave access to several of the comfort control components. When I bought the car, the system worked. It then stopped working and I have never taken the time to diag the issues.I noted that the .4 ohm resistor in the air box was slightly charred and the factory connector had been replaced. I removed the two fasteners to inspect and found a shotty solder job…See More

"Hi Logan According to the shop manual, the front cylinders have a larger bore (1-3/16”) compared to the rear cylinders (1”). This makes sense, as the front brakes play a larger role in stopping the car. Additionally, RockAuto sells…"

"Logan , if you take off the wheel cylinder and remove the dust boot a Tape measure will tell you if it is 1 inch or  1 -3/16  you could by a 1 inch wooden dowel and compare too,  Pretty sure it is the larger cylinder though "

Lower Front End Ball Joints

Posted on May 11, 2023 at 9:04am 10 Comments

Good Morning all!

I took the 64 into the shop to have some adjustments completed and in the process decided to have the lower ball joints replaced as was recommended the last time I had it in. I ordered the parts and came into the shop. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace those lower ball joints requiring nearly 4hrs of labor. Now this is a reputable shop and they know me by name here and they will continue to get my business. I am just questioning what on earth is…

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
