This is off topic as my daughter is NOT driving my '64 Cad in LA, but a yeoman old Saturn (recent impoverished college grad).  I am 2000 miles away and unable to review and service the car.  Can anyone recommend a "real guy" independent mechanic who can give the car a "going over" replacing fluids and inspecting what needs to be done so I can feel comfortable she can use it safely for a while?  Obviously the local "oil change place" is not going to cut it for my sense of comfort.   Please forgive the non-'63/64 Cad-specific question.

Not in West L.A. but about 15 miles away in Torrance is a place I can recommend. I work across the street and know the owner. He can certainly do what you are asking if your daughter wants to make the drive.

Lion's Automotive 340 Van Ness Ave. Torrance, 90501 310 787-9760

Thank you.  I will check it out.

64 Power Servo vacuum leak

Posted by Kent Prows on June 27, 2020 at 4:02pm 0 Comments

I finally got around to fixing a leak in my heater core.  I decided to check to see if there were any other obvious issues while I had everything torn apart.  When I put a vacuum directly (bypassing the transducer) to the power servo it gets to about 10" and then slowly leaks back to zero.  The fan will not go to full and the mode door will not open completely.  I have read a couple of other posts that said they repaired the power servo leaks.  How?  Does anyone have one to sell?  I just…
