Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has done an efi conversion on their vehicle. I had the Holley Sniper installed and am very happy with the system except for the very annoying noise coming from the in line fuel pump. I am looking to go to an in tank pump but the retro fit pumps from Holley are for tanks that are at least 7 inches deep. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this same issue. I do apologize if I have posted this in the wrong area as I am not super familiar with the site. Thanks for any input or advise

Hi Charles,

I have the Holley Sniper in my car and I'm using an in-tank pump.  I used the Holley in-tank module part number 12-130, but that is for tanks 7" deep at a minimum, so I had to modify the way it drops in.  I also bought a new tank (The same one they sell at OPGI) and it has a recess stamped in it that creates room for modern drop in EFI pumps.  The orginal tank doesn't have this recess.  Anyway, I had to modify the pump and the mod isn't for the faint of heart because the pump is expensive.  You basically have to modify the bracket and the tubing so that it drops in on an angle instead of straight down.  The pickup Holley uses is called "hydramat".  Holley makes different shapes than the straight piece provided.  I can't recall which one I used on mine.  I've had mine running since 2018 and never had an issue - the sniper is the best mod I ever made and you really can't tell it's there under the factory air cleaner (which I modified to fit the larger sniper inlet).

Hope that helps!

Just found this article.  Wish this was available in 2018 when I did mine...How To Install A Sniper EFI Fuel Pump Module Kit Into A Shallow Fue...

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
