I do not see any part # for this horn either advertised or stamped. It is probably one of the hard to find horns of that era but if I were spending that much money I would want to know what I was buying.:
The 1961 to 1963 Cadillacs used an Eldo horn with catalog # 199 9947, stamped 947 with a B Flat Tone.
The 1964 Cadillacs used an Eldo horn with catalog # 199 9896, stamped 896 with a Low C Tone.

The # is stamped on the outer lip of the horn like this 896 I picked up for my 1964 Coupe de Ville a few years back:

I was watching the eBay horn too. It looks like it's stamped 949.

Can you post a link? I have typed in the title exactly direct on the eBay site and not finding this. The pictures are fine but cannot get to the listing.

Anyone have an actual link to this listing? It would be nice to zoom in on the pics and see it close up. The listing is ended so the search tool is not working but should still be able to go to if someone has the link.

I thought of that ... it would have been nice to just have a link. It would also be nice if eBay posted the listing ID #. Searching user, then scanning for old sales, is the way to get there.. may do that later today when I have more time.

OK...what's another 5 minutes. Searched user, searched completed, found, it is sold, it is a 949. Here is the link and a picture with stamping:

From previous discussion here on the site (Click Here), looks like this was a Buick sourced horn. These are all very high demand horns and has the look of the original 896 / 947 horns so someone will have a nice piece at a cost.

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
