Hi Guys,

I'm working to replace all the rocker arms on my 1964 Cadillac Sedan Deville. Driver’s side is no problem, but the passenger side is proving to be more challenging. The issue is removing the back rocker arm assembly bolt, it’s hitting the blower motor housing and there’s not enough clearance to get it removed. There’s not much mention in the service manual other than to ensure that the rocker assembly and bolt are installed when the engine head is installed. I am not planning to remove the head. Are there any tips or tricks that you guys would suggest? Do I need to remove the blower motor housing? I want to fully remove the rocker assembly so I can remove the shaft plug ends and clean the inside of the rocker arm shaft.

Thank you in advance!

You will need to remove the blower case, or at least move it upwards.

Thanks Russ! You are 100% correct, it needed to be loosened up. I went ahead and removed it so I could replace the blower motor and vacuum actuator. Now I’m replacing the heater core and addressing other heat/AC components on the inside of the car. It’s like peeling the layers back on an onion, it just keeps going. As the old saying goes “if it’s not one thing, it’s another” 😀

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
