OK. It has been while since we had trivia and thought I would throw something at you out of my last Cadmium plating batch. I am always throwing things into these batches, sometimes just for kicks & grins. Well, here is a piece I just got back.

Name the part or describe where it goes for that elusive 1963/64 Cadillac Trivia Cigar!

it's a ball joint stud, outside of its socket.
if you see this, you have had a bad day, because it came apart.
on older cars, they were removeable on adjustable drag links, im not sure if that applies to 63 model year, but you could remove them on my 57

Mark, I’m  reaching for that cigar… but first: Where does it go?

based on the length, it's probably the upper rear end joint.  I never changed one.

Bingo! It is the rear upper spherical (ball) joint stud attached to rear upper control yoke (arm) that in term attaches to differential. It is a big guy using a a  9/16"-18 top lock nut on the end.

MARK .... HAVE A CIGAR!!!

Jason

You  look very good and  healthy in that photo

Looks like you have been out in the Sun a bit

I been told — you can’t be too rich — too thin — or too tan

Enjoy

I like the vintage 1993 Boston t shirt.

Yep, picked that up at the 2013 CLC Grand National in Boston.

Trunk Open and Lock Mechanism is in Closed Position

Posted by Chris Anderson on September 13, 2022 at 7:14pm 7 Comments

While working on my trunk lock on 64 Cadillac, I mistakenly closed the locking mechanism while the trunk was open.  Is there an easy way to manually release the lock back to the open position?

Thanks.

Fuel Pump Failure

Hello,

I'm located in Melbourne, Australia and my 64 sedan de ville is stuck in the garage due to failed mechanical fuel pump. The first after market mechanical fuel pump lasted a few years before it failed & left me stranded 5 hours from home. A hire car and tow got us home. On inspection, I noticed a valve not seated within the housing. I was optimistic, pressed it into place and assumed the pump was good to go. But alas, no. From what I can now determine, the diaphragm pushrod…
