After the inspection the mechanic told me that the brakes had never been done. My car is about to hit 59,000 miles. I think I will only need cylinders, shoes, and hoses. "If it were my car, I would buy a newer version of the originals. Better output and you know it is new or rebuilt. Finding a NOS would be near impossible and it will have 60 year old seals."

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
