7000, 600, 150, 12, 11 ...Spanning Several Hundred Contacts

Wonder what these numbers are?

Right now I average 7000 Cadillac related emails a year, 600 emails a month, and 150 emails a week, spanning several hundred contacts, members, and customers asking about parts or questions about the 1963 and 1964 Cadillacs, which includes 12 body styles in 1963 and 11 body styles in 1964.

Couple that fact with there is a general misunderstanding that '62 series', DeVilles, Fleetwoods, and Eldo's, while sharing many similar "components", are vastly different between the body series, and even within the same body style.

The point being, and my pet peeve for tonight, if you ask me a question or post a question to the message board here in the 63/64 site, please include the year and specific body style of your car, and very basic additional information such as what color, what side, etc. I have had several emails recently that cycled back and forth about a dozen times where if I knew the specific year and body style I could have provided quicker, better information.

It really helps to know what you need and ask specifics. For example, If I were looking for a RH door panel for my car I would probably ask myself in the following manner.

"Hello, I have a 1964 Cadillac Coupe Deville (body style 6357) and need a right hand passenger side door panel complete with door panel trim, door pull handle and chrome back plate. I also need the arm rest and arm rest switch plate and window switches.  My car has the power vent windows so my arm rest switch plate has the two switches. I need both switches and would like a switch plate with minimal pitting if you have one.  Since I have power vent windows, I need the solid top front metal cover plate instead of the ones with manual handles and the hole through the plate.  I also need the arm rest courtesy light and lense and a working bulb, and the arm rest light harness that feeds through the door panel. OH, it is Sandalwood (light beige) with Trim Code 44.  I am really looking for a door panel that is solid with no water damage  although minor staining on the back is OK.  I could also use some of these finish screws that go through the bottom carpet area and the large screws that go through the door pull bases.  I would appreciate pictures of the door panel front and back and the switch plate.  My shipping address is 104 New Rand Rd, Garner, NC 27529.  thanks Jason Edge"

An email such as this will usually save a 1/2 dozen back and forth emails.   Usually, I get an email that ask, "Hey Jason, I need a door panel for my coupe.  Whatcha got?" That's Ok, I'm not going to bite your head off, but I'll have to ask questions to answer all the details you could have provided to start with. I'm in it for the long haul so don't mind the back and forth, really, but it can eat up a lot of additional time.

The point being, know your car, know the body style, know your trim codes and be specific when you need to ask a question or are searching for a part.  It will save everyone time and hopefully get your question answered or that part on the way sooner than later. Jason

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
