hi all
there is a heater hose that goes from the water pump to the heater tap. it appears there is a factory canal for this to follow but would appear to be a moulded hose needed there. I am just using normal heater hose that can not turn the 2 90 degree bends. is this moulded hose available?

thanks Tim... I have not done anything with this since writing this post. the vacuum hoses are a challenge on their own.
good one thanks Tony
sorry to be a pest - just confirming those 2 rear heater hoses can be straight 3/4 hose bent to suit?
just revisiting to get an answer on the question about the 2 rear heater hoses. These are the ones right at the back that join into the firewall where I assume the heater cose is.
Can straight hose be used and just bent to suit?
thats it jason good one. so both heater hoses at the back of the engine that go in and out of the heater core can be straight hoses that can be bent? the 90 degree hose at the front (the short one) I reckon I can get a local replacement. thanks
As an example of the Heater Core 3/4" Return hoses and pipe I have included picture below with intake removed. It starts with a 3/4" curved hose from Heater Core outlet nipped that curves over to the heater return pipe that mounts to Right Rear intake bolt via a metal flange (not seen in this picture) and goes under the intake on the right passenger, held to engine block via a 1/2" hex head bolt, then you have the short curved and formed 3/4" hose from the pipe to the water pump which I thought you were referring to.
The Heater Core "Feed" hose is a 5/8" hose and starts on nipple on the back of the cylinder head outlet pipe (sometimes called the water intake) curves over to the right and runs down the inside of the right valve cover, secured via a clamp, then connects to the hot water control valve. From the hot water control valve, you have another 5/8" hose that curves over to the heater core inlet nipped. See Heater Core "Feed" hoses, and water control valve from a 1963 Cadillac outlined below. This is the same set as you have on the 64's except the heater control valve will look a little different.
that first pic did not come through but now I see it Jason. that is not the hose I mean. the hose goes from the heater tap then across the manifold to the connection near the fuel filter. its just a 3/4 inch heater hose. it looks to me that it should pass alongside the insode of the drivers side rocker cover. Ross that hose is the hose to replace the hose in the 2nd pic?
thanks Jason w ill email and make a deal
The water return pipe to water pump hose does have a very tight turn and is formed. I am not sure if anyone is reproducing it. I should have some VG used ones on hand for $10. Below is a nice used one I just shipped out to Bill Anderson who is restoring a Park Avenue for a chapter member. Perhaps you can use the 20522 to cross-reference it to some NOS stock, reproductions etc.
I will also have the return pipe (pictures at bottom) that runs under the intake manifold for if you need one. Email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com with ship to address.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
