We had an excellent tech tip in the January 2015 newsletter by Ron Perry regarding adding new seals to fender skirts. It was also posted as a separate Help topic article at this link  Fender Skirt Seal Replacement by Ron Perry

Just to update this a bit, my friend and chapter member George Karageorge came over with some 3M 08475 3/8" x 30' Seam Sealer Tape that seems like a great alternative seal material that already had the adhesive on one side.

I was concerned about the thickness and measured an original fender skirt seal at 3/64".  I then measured the 3M Seam Sealer Tape and it is also exactly 3/64".  The 3/8" width is a bit wider than the skirt lip so you can either trim off the excess or lip it around. We lipped a bit around my fender skirt and it seems to hold very tight.  Amazon has a limited supply, but there are other sources for this 3M tape.
Just as a reminder, the fender skirt seals provide insulation against rattling and pushed the skirt out even with the rest of the body of the car, so this is a good upgrade.  If interested in the 3M tape at Amazon click on 3M 08475 3/8" x 30' Seam Sealer Tape.    Thanks, George!

You're welcome.  I got mine at Carolina Auto Paint off Germantown Rd/Daimler Way.  They have been pretty helpful, mixed a perfect light gray single stage for repainting my ashtrays.glove lid etc

Have been trying to get hold of the tape. Contacted 3M here in Sweden but they didn't have it!

Did however find the perfect solution as I did remember I had a roll of teflon insulation tape, for chemical tankers lying about. Who doesn't?

The skirt is now perfectly flush and free of any resonans. I am very pleased with the outcome. Unfortunately there is not any marking on the roll of teflon tape. So can't tell you of maker or model. As this product is produced to withstand any chemical I guess it will keep a good seal and last forever.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
