I joined the Cadillac LaSalle club. It did not give me a membership nmuber, but it gave me a Database # of 59238258. I'd like to join the 1963/64 Cadillac Chapter.
Thanks Jason. I look forward to following you and adding anything of interest. I will do a write up as you requested and send you the photo file. Best..Tom
Jason thanks for everything you do for the Cadillac community, especially the 63-64 folks. You are a great help & inspiration to those of us who love these old Cadillacs.
Hi Rico, it usually takes 1 to 2 weeks but due to the Holidays it may take a bit longer. Contact Mike and Nancy Book at the National Office at the email or phone # listed below and be sure to get back with me with your CLC # when you receive it so I can sign you up to the Chapter: Mike and Nancy Book PO Box 360835 Columbus, OH 43236-0835 614-478-4622 Cadlasalleclub@aol.com
Douglas, Post to our "for sale" forum by going to www.forsale.6364cadillac.com (or using the Forum Drop down menus) and clicking on +Add to add your for sell item. That's it.
Denny, I have several on the Wait List for those rear bumper end bar inner aluminum escutcheons (Tins). Email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com to get on the Wait List.
Dusty, I do not understand the comment "I have a hole in diagram in servo"??? I will just say that the shop manual and Cadillac Tim Groves 64 Comfort Control Diagnostics Manual are the two items you need to go through and diagnose the system. Almost all illustrations from the shop manual can be accessed from our Help page under AC/Heat. If you look through those illustrations you will have what I have and what is in the shop manual but not all the text and diagnostics, nor all the great info in Tim Grove's book. If serious about getting your system right, have both manuals handy.
Frank, if your 1964 is a Coupe DeVille (body style 6357, VIN 64J......), in addition to the items Russ mentioned (shift quadrant display, front driveshaft, gear shift linkage, etc) you will have different cross-member yaw mounts, neutral safety switch, and you need to make sure the 390 engine/trans setup includes the TV Rod, starter, trans inspection covers, rear trans mount, etc, as all of that is different between the Hydrmatic and Turbo Hydramatic Transmissions.
Is the heater hose "hot" on the heater core side of the water control valve? If it is, it is letting hot water to the heater core and will need to diagnose further. If not, you have issue at the water control valve. In heat mode you should have no vacuum at the water control valve diaphragm nipple leaving the valve open so hot water can flow through. In AC mode, Vacuum forces the diaphragm to close the valve. From there I would check the diagnostics in the shop manual and Tim Groves Comfort Control Diagnostics manual.
Jason, thanks again for your comment and help. the question i had on the bracket/ holding device on the top driver side of core support looks like it held some sort of data plate. my cowl tag is there intact. i will put this question out to any members who might have this on their car, looks like it holds a tag or plate the size of a credit card. or does any one remember GM protecto-plates?
Shoot me an email to jasonedge@nc.rr.com. I've been restoring mine for 18 years and tell people I have restored about 2/3's of it but want to go back and redo the first 1/3! LOL It is definitely an ongoing process. I will be glad to help you as I have but you have over 1200 members here on the site and many are eager to help and encourage you to post your restoration questions, and updates on our Restoration & Authenticity Forum here on the site at http://6364cadillac.ning.com/forum/categories/restoration-authenticity/listForCategory. As they say 2 heads are better than one... and 1200 heads are definitely better than one! The same goes for everyone with restoration, or other technical question... please feel free to post here on the site so that EVERYONE can help and learn at the same time!
That information would be in the 1964 Cadillac Specification Manual. You can sometimes find them on ebay, and a great source of tons of information on these cars, especially if you want to know what the cars were originally equipped with. My email address is (and has been 10+ years now) jasonedge@nc.rr.com Shoot me an email anytime. Jason.
