I have sent 2 photos of the Transmission yaw bumpers (side mounts) It appears they only touch the trans bellhousing on the very edge. Is that the correct position? Does not seem right to me but I don't know. Does anyone have a picture of the correct position for these mounts. I plan on replacing them and want to make sure of the correct position    thanks Ron Perry

Yaw mounts are mounted above  the crossmember pointed up against the curved area of the bell housing. There were two types of Yaw Mounts: a shorter one used the Hydra-Matic transmissions and a longer one used with the Turbo Hydra-Matic. I am pretty sure the short HM yaw mounts would not each up to the THM transmission. I am looking at your pics from a phone (on vacation) and not sure what I am seeing but do know you need the correct yaw mount and it needs to be pointed up toward the bell housing.

I looked at the CLC database and my Chapter notes and show own a 1964 Sedan de Ville Four Window (6339) so you would have the Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and need the longer THM Yaw Mounts. Can't tell from the pictures from m phone what I am seeing.

Maybe this pictures will help. Note yaw mount pushing up against the bell housing.

This is a good photo! Is there a reputable source for these yaw bumpers? Id like to replace mine while I've got my teeth up in this area when doing the trans replacement.

Steele Rubber (www.steelerubber.com) can revulcanize (add new rubber) to your old mounts.  I would check Caddy Daddy, and the other usually suspects for ready to ship yaw mounts with new rubber. If you need good cores I have them for $15 each.

Yeah, rubber ready to ship would be preferable. Shouldn't need cores. Caddy Daddy appears to have them but as with all thing CD, they are a bit spendy.

Like I thought, Caddy Daddy has them ready to go but they are not cheap, $305. Link: https://www.caddydaddy.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=yaw+mount

You might shop around.

Thanks for the link! Yeah, CD is always pricey, but in my experience, you are getting a good product.

Steel rubber is $245 to revulcanize with 3 week turn around time ... making the $305 price from Caddy Daddy not so bad. Still might want to search. Haven't check Rock Auto yet. Here is the Steele link:

May be worth inspecting the yaw mounts before jumping in too deep. Mine still might be good. Might be a good Sunday afternoon project.

To your knowledge, is there any adjustment in these at all?

There is a slot for lateral adjustment. In fact that is how they go in... in stall with nut & washer loose and slight up next to the transmission bell housing and tighten. If yours are a bit worn but still OK you can slide inward a bit to tighten.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
