I absolutely love this car!  Here's the story, I had seen it parked in front of a neighbor's house for over two years and finally worked up the courage to knock on his door.  My husband was not happy with me because secretly I think he knew it was coming home with us.  Not only did our neighbor sell it to us for the bargain price of $5,000.00 but he had it towed to our house as it was not running.  2015 marked a milestone in our lives as it was our very first Cadillac purchase at the ages of 35 (me/Marlina) and 39 (David).  The car was all original and just needed some tlc and to be enjoyed again. It has the original 429 with some work to the carburetor, new sway bar, tires, brakes and a little work to the tranny.  It still maintains the original upholstery and believe its been painted once. Nine years later, not only do we still love this car, but so do our children.  I hope you enjoy this photo taken at the Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory New Washoe City, Nevada on 09/30/2024.

Thanks, Jason...it's been an interesting ride with Cambiar and will be fun to share some of its history which is really the result of a 1959 Buick. More on that later! Barry Penfound

Thanks Jason.   I have been a member of the Cadillac Lasalle Club since about 2017.  I got the Cadillac bug when I was 7 years old.  My neighbor in Dallas Texas would buy a new Cadillac every two years.  He would take me on rides and let me sit in the cars in his driveway.  He started with a 59 Cadillac and of course he had a 63 Cadillac.   I previously had a 55 Cadillac Fleetwood which I had previously professionally restored (mistake due to the cost) and a 07 Cadillac with 33000 miles.   I sold both of the cars to buy my 63 Cadillac (purchased few weeks ago).

The car is a 1963 Cadillac Deville 3rd Generation (Series 6389) Park Avenue.   The color is Royal Maroon with a Sandalwood interior.  It only has 8100 Original Miles.  It is all original condition.  The condition is over the top.

The car was bought from Bulger Cadillac in Wichita Kansas in June of 1963 by an Elizabeth Carey (owner of Carey Salt Company).  She drove the car to church and special occasions.  In May of 1974 it was purchased by Jo Bulger who owned Bulger Cadillac.  The car sat in the showroom of the dealership form May of 1974 to February of 2001.  The car was a talking point for the dealership.

In February of 2001 it was sold to a Dave Freeman who was Chief Metrologist at KSN News in Wichita Kansas.

He sold the car to a Mr. Kurt Fowler (service manager of Bulger Cadilac) in September 2011.   Mr. Fowler was the President of the Wichita Kansas Cadillac-Lasalle Club.  Mr. Fowler died, 63%20cadillac%20picture%20.jpgand I bought the car from his brother-in-law.

The car is the winner of the Grand National Cadillac and Lasalle Club Past Presidents Preservation Award as the Best Original in 2013 and 2nd Place Primary at the same meet.

Great car.  I am glad I am a part of this Forum as I am sure I will have many questions about the car.

Thanks Jason. My 64 is my first Cadillac out of maaany cars. I'm pretty sure I overpaid but it's mine now. I just want it to be a nice dependable driver. The engine and trans have been rebuilt and it has been repainted at least once. Still has the original red leather interior and  a white top. Currently in the process of replacing a lot of the floor and floor braces. I have had it on the road for a few months after replacing the fuel tank, lines, and pump. New radiator and complete brake system with discs up front to include a new booster and combination valve and stainless lines.

Hello Jason,

I just started on a restoration of my father's 1963 convertible. Searching the web for parts and information is what brought me to this group. The car has only been in my family since the day it rolled off the showroom floor. First my father's car, then my mother's when he passed, and now that mom has passed, it is mine. My dad bought the car brand new in July of '63' and I even have the original receipt for the purchase! The car has 22,006 original miles on it and has been garaged it's entire life. I am hoping to make this a driver and to get this beautiful land yacht back on the road before summer's end. Probably a long shot but hey, I figure I need goals (no matter how improbable).

So I am definitely at he very beginning of the project. I have the radiator out getting re-cored and the fuel tank getting cleaned and coated. The car runs but I don't think there is a single gasket or seal that's not leaking. Currently I am just trying to amass the obvious parts and get the information I need to keep the car original. I'm sure I'll be on here plenty looking for help, information and guidance so I can do this project right.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for welcoming me.  I recently decided that this era is the next one I hope to add to my Caddy collection.  I like the 60 specials and of course the Coupe DeVilles and convertibles.  I have three model 314s from 1926 and 1927, two roadsters and a dual cowl phaeton.  I believe these cars may be the largest intact collection of open Model 314s which were low production.  It's been a 38 year effort to get this far with them (it all began in 1986 after a friend found them in Oklahoma.  We bought them together but he bailed out as the restoration costs got higher than expected).  I also have a 1965 model 62 convertible and a 1940 LaSalle 50 series special coupe.  I look forward to meeting you at some point, perhaps at the Grand National?  I plan to bring my 1927 Model 314 Roadster.  Best regards.  Mike

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Posted by CHRIS CARLSON on December 6, 2023 at 10:54am 0 Comments

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
