Couple of question on my 63  Park Avenue

1.  I had my car worked on last summer by my mechanic who restores casr primarily.  He does not work on transmissions.  He said there was a small transmission leak.  I noticed today a small leak in the middle of the car.  Does anyone know the likely cause when you see the leak in that area and how difficult the fix?

2.  Power Seat.  I have a six way seat--front/back up/down and recline.  The motor makes noise but no movement of the seat on any of the controls.  Any idea of the problem and how easy is the fix?

Always appreciate your comments.

Thanks, David

There was recently a post about the power seats that will probably be helpful https://6364cadillac.ning.com/xn/detail/6543066:Topic:384941?xg_sou...

As for the transmission, unfortunately there are MANY causes of leaks. The fluid will cling to whatever under the car & flow to the lowest point before it drips to the floor. So a spot being under the middle of the car doesn't tell you much. You'll just have to get under it & check it out.

Thanks Kurt.

Hi David,

I had a small leak somewhere under my THM400.  While I was under there with a starter issue, I saw a drip at the speedometer cable connection.  I tightened it some more, and that helped.  At the time I didn't look into whether a seal or o-ring is bad.  I need to do that.  Could be your pan bolts too, maybe too loose.  My engine oil pan had a leak on the front end of the pan, turned out the bolts were girl-tight.

Good luck!

Linda

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
