Power Booster Install

Hey! I’ve seen the 63/64 power booster and master cylinder combination has been covered very clearly. I’m in the process of replacing mine. I was hoping someone could give me insight on a specific replacement seal set into the firewall. Mine is done and wanted a replacement if anyone can point me in the right direction. Photo is attached. Any other insights into this process always appreciated. Also thanks to the knowledgeable Jason Edge for calling out the finish of the firewall paint.

The parts book does not show a gasket for the 63 64. It lists up to 58 for a body gasket.  The corvette world has alot of reproduction parts that may work.

You got me curious and I looked at the boosters I have in stock. There is a gasket on all of them so it must be part of the booster itself.

Thanks! I haven’t found that gasket either but was going to use a gasket making kit for it. In addition to that seal there is a rubber firewall grommet which is what I’m trying to track down. Attached is a Chevy one that seems somewhat close. Due to the age of the grommet coming out I couldn’t tell if it was a split two-piece or an all one piece. Haven’t found any insight in the manual either.

The gasket is usually attached with adhesive to back of booster so yes I think it became part of the booster and probably why not listed in the Master Parts Book. I don't recall ever seeing a thick grommet like the one you attached.   If your booster does not have one you could get sheet gasket and cut your own.

     I replaced my PB Booster last year and mine was part of the booster on my 1964 Series 62.  I believe you are correct.

I think that the gasket is more of a chaff guard that a seal. The original material of the seal is a nylon material or something like that.  As an Aircraft mechanic for more than 37 years, that material type is used as an anti chaff between components.  The booster may crack the firewall at the rub points without the gasket in place.
