Jason, thanks again for your comment and help. the question i had on the bracket/ holding device on the top driver side of core support looks like it held some sort of data plate. my cowl tag is there intact.   i will put this question out to any members who might have this on their car, looks like it holds a tag or plate the size of a credit card. or does any one remember GM protecto-plates?

Shoot me an email to jasonedge@nc.rr.com. I've been restoring mine for 18 years and tell people I have restored about 2/3's of it but want to go back and redo the first 1/3! LOL  It is definitely an ongoing process. I will be glad to help you as I have but you have over 1200 members here on the site and many are eager to help and encourage you to post your restoration questions, and updates on our Restoration & Authenticity Forum here on the site at http://6364cadillac.ning.com/forum/categories/restoration-authenticity/listForCategory.  As they say 2 heads are better than one... and 1200 heads are definitely better than one!  The same goes for everyone with restoration, or other technical question... please feel free to post here on the site so that EVERYONE can help and learn at the same time!

That information would be in the 1964 Cadillac Specification Manual.  You can sometimes find them on ebay, and a great source of tons of information on these cars, especially if you want to know what the cars were originally equipped with. My email address is (and has been 10+ years now) jasonedge@nc.rr.com  Shoot me an email anytime. Jason.

I've been trying to reach you I was a member of the original 64 Caddy Community board years ago, (i sent an email to your old email it bounced back) I was hoping you could help. I am restoring the interior of my 64 CoupeDeVille and I am looking for a color combination options chart. Like If you had white seats what were you carpet choices. Do you know where I can find something like that? I want to keep it 64 correct, but it doesn't have to be the way it came.

Thank you for the welcome Jason. I recently purchased my 63 DV convertible from the USA, and i am waiting patiently or impatiently for it to arrive in Dubai. It is a 20,000 original mile beauty. I am originally from England, and have owned two Caddillacs in the past. I had a 57 in the UK in 89, and an Escalade here in Dubai, not really a classic but a nice ride. Cant wait to get her here and drive her, should arrive early November, just in time for winter cruising, too hot here in the summer, but after this month 90 degrees plus every day.

Hi, Jason,
I admired your Escalade EXT in the last club magazine, do they make that vehicle in 3/4 ton? I'm using a 2001 GMC 2500 currently to pull my 39 Buick in a 24' enclosed trailer, wonder if the EXT could pull that?
I have a '64 Fleetwood Sixty Special, can't decide whether to do a frame off or frame on restoration. It's not in bad shape, but started some work on it when it had a little damage to RR quarter, then was not sure where to stop. I know the cost difference is substantial. The resto shop I talked to told me it depends on how much you love the car. Not sure how to answer that. My grandma had a'64 Sedan deVille, that is probably what attracted me to the Fleetwood.
Thanks for a great forum.

1963 Eldorado convertible boot

Posted by Les Eastling on February 27, 2020 at 10:33am 0 Comments

I need a used convertible boot for a 63 Cadillac convertible - condition or color is not an issue since it will be used as a pattern for making a new one. One from either a 62 series convertible or an Eldorado would work. I know I am searching for hen's teeth here... but you never know unless you ask!
