Brighter Headlights. What to install that won't draw too much current.

My car still has its "T-3"headlamps and they shed poor, yellow-tinted light. I'd like to replace them with something that most folks on this web site use, that would shed good light and don't heat up the wiring with too many amps.

Thanks. I will call on Monday. I have two old cars (64 SDV and a 66 Imperial cvt), so I'll use Russ' wire harness and Halogens on one of them, and this LED solution on the other.

Hi Bryan. I went on the site and am overwhelmed by the selection. Please advise stock number(s) you purchased. Thanks!

I went the Russ route and ordered his kit. We'll see how I do when I get it.

Thanks for all the VERY informative input.

Thanks. You know those old Honeywell Thermostats we had in the house where the choices were Off Heat Cool/Lo Hi and a temperature selector? I still use them because I am a VERY linear thinker. (Don't use ATM machines, either-truth). The blog format worked very well for me, but if it is in the best interest of the group I will gladly use the Forum format.

Norm, the default 1963/64 Cadillac Specific Discussion forum would have been fine, and restoration might be OK, but to me it implies restoration to factory original... so the default 63/64 forum would be the one I would choose.   In the big scheme of themes Blogs are OK but they are linear and just show what was last posted at top, while discussion forums allow nested replies.That is on a forum if replies are posted in order
A.
B.
C.

and someone want to discuss something regarding B they reply to be and it becomes say
B --> B.1
   --> B.2
   --> B.3

The nesting can continue to deeper levels and keeps the discussions concentrated.

With a blog discussions say about A. B. and C. are all just mixed together and whatever was posted last pops up at the top.

Of course with discussions veering way off to another topic it is better to start another Discussion Thread.
Hope that is clear as mud! :-)

Desktop. I avoid using the phone for typing because the one class I paid attention in during the 7th grade was "touch-typing"so to do it any other way is laborious. Thanks for the heads up and sorry if I choked up an area that was inappropriate. Question: Which type of Forum would you have posted my question on?

Comment by Jason Edge on December 16, 2018 at 2:44pm

Ok. I figured out how to remove "Blog" from mobile view. If anyone using a mobile device wants to discuss something, click on "Discussions" on your mobile device drop down. From there you can enter Discussion Title, Content, then at bottom select the type discussion forum. NOTE: it defaults to 1963/64 Cadillac Discussion". Other options are Restoration, General, Chapter, For Sale, Wanted to Buy, Newsletters, Suggestion Box, Trivia.
I am guessing the recent onslaught of "Blogs" was from mobile devices. This should help force members to use the discussion forums.

Norm, How did you create this message thread? Are you using a desktop/laptop or  a mobile device/smart phone. I have Blog turned off from the Forum's dropdown menu in the header for the desktop view but have not figured out how to get it off the menu on mobile devices.

On the desktop - When you want to post a topic, click on Forums in the header, then the + sign and select the type forum you want to post to (e.g. General, 63/64 specific, etc)

On the smartphone - When you should have selections including Discussions and then Blog. You should click on Discussions then click on the + sign in lower right.  NOTE: on smartphones you can also tap the dropdown menu to switch to Desktop View.

With that, how did you post this message thread and what device did you use:

Thanks, guys. I clearly understand the REASON for using a relay, but the specifics elude me; I'm more of an AFB-rebuild-guy than a strip-twist-solder guy, but you've made it sound very straight-forward and simple.

Now, if someone will explain to me the difference between a "blog" and a "discussion", I'm all ears.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
