I'm converting my front brakes to discs on my '63 Deville. I purchased the complete kit from ABS, including the booster & master cylinder. The calipers and spindles fit great. The problem is that the brake booster bolt pattern through the firewall is different than my '63. It is a little smaller and I don't want to drill out/egg out my firewall to accommodate this booster. The description says it fits 62-66 so I'm wondering if the firewalls are different for '63. Are the booster bolt patterns through the firewall different between these years? If so, any ideas on an aftermarket booster that will fit my firewall and powerful enough for a disc brake master cylinder? Or, any solutions to get this to fit without molesting my firewall? Also, has anyone had any luck using the stock booster with a disc/drum master cylinder? I would think a stock booster wouldn't have enough pressure for the disc/drum master cylinder.

I use the stock booster and it does leave a little bit of wanting for the pedal pressure. I drover a friends 63 with the disk brake conversion and the correct booster. It was a night vs day difference and I now have the correct booster waiting to install.

Will your stock booster work?  yes it will, but it can work alot better.

Thanks, Russ. I was afraid the stock booster wouldn't be enough pressure (that would have been too easy. lol). I talked to Gary at ABS and he asked me to send pictures to show the differences in the stock booster and what they sent me. After I sent the pics (see links below), he agreed they sent the wrong booster and they are going to send me the supposedly correct booster. Hopefully, the booster I receive will bolt on without any firewall modifications. I hope to receive it by later next week and I'll post how the replacement worked out.  Booster-pic2.jpg Booster-pic1.jpg

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
