Replacement 63 Radiator Recommendations

My 61 year old radiator sprung a leak (actually a few leaks). What are you guys using as replacements? Are you replacing with copper or aluminum? How many rows are you running in the radiator? How's the fitment? I understand some manufacturers require you to modify the bottom mount. Also, I've seen some where the transmission coolers lines are not the factory sizes. BTW- This is a factory A/C car.See More

63 Exhaust Hanger Mystery

I'm in the process of installing a stainless steel single exhaust from Classic Exhaust on my '63 Coupe de Ville. I'm running into a mystery regarding my middle exhaust bracket. I have the bracket that goes on the body but I'm missing the piece or pieces that attach the pipe to that body bracket. I've attached a picture of the bracket I have (the pic is taken looking up over the rear axle where the "over the axle" pipe will run). I was hoping someone on this forum would be so kind as to post…See More

63 Booster Fitment

I'm converting my front brakes to discs on my '63 Deville. I purchased the complete kit from ABS, including the booster & master cylinder. The calipers and spindles fit great. The problem is that the brake booster bolt pattern through the firewall is different than my '63. It is a little smaller and I don't want to drill out/egg out my firewall to accommodate this booster. The description says it fits 62-66 so I'm wondering if the firewalls are different for '63. Are the booster bolt…See More

CHRIS CARLSON replied to Mike Travers's discussion Hardened Valve Seats

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
