I live in California and the gas stations all have hose nozzles that have a vapor trap device on them which pushes against the fuel filler pipe. You must depress this collar to start the flow of fuel. Because the filler neck on my 64 is located behind the license plate, the nozzle will not fit against the filler pipe, and thus I need to pull the vapor trap collar back and hold it with my hand. Has anyone come up with an easier way to fill the tank? Is there an extension I can get that I can use when I fill my tank that will seal against the vapor trap collar and the filler pipe?

So simple that I had not thought about it. I will see if that solves my problem.
I understand your frustration, I have to turn the pump sideways while pulling back on the collar in order to fuel my 64. it's a pain. You can always buy a long funnel and stick in the filler pipe and fill up that way, you will still have to pull back on the pump collar, but at least you won't be struggling with the angle anymore and possible gas spills.
In the old days the pumps nozzles were long and angled, so you never worried about this kind of thing.
Yes I remember the "old days" as I have had this car since 1974.
Maybe a tube that slips inside the filler neck. Weld a collar about 5 inches above the bottom, so the tube doesn't fall into the filler neck. The tube will stick out far enough so you can fill with the pump handle.
so... a funnel???
I would think of it as an extension. A funnel would have a large opening that the pump nozzle wouldn't engage.
I have several filler tubes. You could possibly cut and weld an extension to your existing one.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
