"Hi Ian,      I think you are doing the right thing.  Don't want to take chances, as I read your last posts.  You want good compression in all eight cylinders and new push rods and lifters.  Good luck with…"

Take heads off for rebuild

Compression test 15 years ago was good. Not a lot of miles since then. Summer car.Last year had a oil pressure issue. Found an aluminum flake had stuck open oil pressure relief valve. (Low pressure at low revs). Fixed, but got noisy lifter. This year, pop off valve cover on passenger side and find broken lifter rod(in pic) and seized lifter. So no valve movement No. 4 cylinder. Question is....during compression test, add oil to cylinder and get 5-10 psi increase, meaning good pistons??I have…See More

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
