Dragging to one side

Hi there, after a lot of work on my brakes - new cylinder, hardware, shoes, hoses, going back to old drums, the car still drags to one side. Does this for years now, but I hoped to get rid of it after all is new / changed. When starting the engine and every part is cool the car brakes perfectly, totally straight.Once the car heats up it drags to the left heavily, even if I didn't brake a lot. So my thought was: The brake line to the front right is very close to the exhaust flange.Maybe I have a…See More

Brake drum stuck

Hi there, after a long time struggling with other issues, health, job and family I'm back on the track, working ob my 63 CdV.Last week I put new brake shoes on front (Raybestos organic as mentioned to be the best for our cars). Now I wanted to drive for the first time after the swap und had trouble getting the car out of my garage.Drove only around the block realizing front right brake seems to be stuck / locked.Maybe a spring broke or the brake cylinder is stuck, can't get the drum off. Can't…See More

"I would be anxious about leaving it in if it is stuck closed or partially closed. You can leave the pivot shift in place and just cut the butterfly part off."

Matti Roth replied to Sammy's discussion Heat riser and blocked intake manifold gasket
"You should look the groove for the spring, That is located in the axle and not in the weight, so it shows how the axle and the butterfly are rotating."

accumulator dryer

Posted by CHRIS CARLSON on December 6, 2023 at 10:54am 0 Comments

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…

Spark Plug Heat Range

I found a diagram that illustrates the main factor in determining a spark plug heat range that I was trying to describe to you during the chapter get together.

Here it is:

The main factor is the length of the ceramic insulator from the middle of the spark plug to the tip (where the spark happens)

The insulator…
