Quick video showing how to test a Power Window Relay from a 1964 Cadillac with case removed and things to look forward that cause them to stop working. This would be applicable for other auto electrical relays.

Hi Jason
This video ( as usual) is very helpful.
Is failure of this relay why the windows won't work except through the emergency switch?
Thanks.
Jeff Kinzler
I'll bypass the switch, It's the easiest way to go and I don't want to add anything that's not necessary.
Thanks Jason
I would bypass unless you plan on adding a lock out switch... and then you run the possibility of where to mount the switch if your 63 has power door locks, since the 63 power door lock switches were mounted at very front of arm rest switch plate, instead of up on the door panel as in 1964.
Thanks Jason,
I am in the process of adding power vent windows to my '63 convertible and bought a harness from a '64 Eldorado and noticed the connector for the relay switch on it. I didn't think the '63s had the relay. I suppose I could either bypass the relay switch on the new harness or add a relay with the new harness.
Ian, The 1964 Window Relay works in conjunction with the Cut-Out switch (lock out switch), found on 1964 Cadillacs but not on 1963 Cadillacs. It is located behind the carpeted lower left kick panel and mounted to the car body via 2 5/16" hex head metal screws. It is referenced in the 1964 Cadillac Shop Manual on page 16-110, Fig 16-128. I have insured a crop in of the llustration seen in Fig 16-128 below:
Jason, Thank you for another helpful video. A couple questions: Where in the car is the relay located and is a '63 the same as a '64?
Thanks, Ian

I need to replace the bulbs for the speedometer cluster in my instrument panel..
Before I open up the dash, I want to have the necessary bulbs on hand.
Can someone help me determine what bulbs I need, the number of bulbs I need, and where to purchase them?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

The temperature gauge of my 63 Eldorado does not work properly.
It goes slowly all the way up and stays there, while the true temperature is around 155-160 F (water in the radiator and/or the top of the thermostat housing).
Where should I start to solve the problem? The gauge itself, the temperature sensor, or the wiring? Or something else? The sensor is a new (aftermarket part)…
