Having been under my car many ime in last week chasing a transmission leak, i am always concerned about were to put the jacks.
Because i dnt hv anywere to work except the street, this particular endeaver had my front wheels on the curb, w two brackets or jack under the thick frame behind the transission pan with the hydraulic jack holding some weight as a back up..
My question is, can the jacks go on the outer edges under the doors? I am deathly afraid of being under there, thus the front wheels on curb in case of failure, it wont come all way down, but doesnt leave me a lot of room.
My hydraulic jack barely gets me to two clicks up the jackstand extender, so not a lot of room.
So, were are safety optimaml, height optimal locations for jackstands to be placed.
Sincerely
Kim

How about some ramps ? maybe you know someone you can borrow them from or purchase a set. I use them ,I just put blocks behind the rear wheels. As for were to put the jack ,I would stick to putting it on the frame, always use the jack stands.. you could use a solid block of wood with the jack to give you that xtra height for the jack stand height
Thanks for suggestions.
I think you got it covered pretty good there .....

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
