My 64 Fleetwood has a 5-blade thermal clutch fan, the seals let loose and I could see into the bearing and the oil or fluid let out as well.

I just wanted to pass along some measurements to save someone a little time in the future.

The opening on the fan itself is slightly larger than 2 1/4". The shaft of the clutch is exactly 2 1/4". So if you intend on replacing the clutch, make sure that the shaft on the NEW clutch will fit thru the opening on the fan.

I ordered a "Severe Duty" clutch from Rock Auto, part #930-2010. The brand was FVP, but I've seen that part # on other brands as well. The shaft diameter was 2 1/2". A whole 1/4" too big. Rock Auto said this would work. I was skeptical, but figured I would give it a try regardless.

There would be no way without major modifications to either part they would fit. They are not compatible.

I made the choice to find a non clutch 7-blade fan. I can always go back to a clutch fan if needed. Ill keep the thread updated if I notice any major difference.

Also, I was able to remove the two radiator hold down bolts letting the radiator shift forward slightly, this allowed me to get the clutch fan off the front of the motor without removing the cooling shroud. Not that it is hard to do, but the less to remove the better.

dont know if this applies, but there is a guy the rebuilds these clutch fans,,,right off, dont remember his name, does corvette stuff.. had it done on. a rebuild I did.  ran about 500.00  I was shocked,  but, its an option if you so desire

I don’t think I’ll be rebuilding a $50 part for $500 HA! There’s got to be a reason the cost is so high..,,

yeah,  I should have asked but I had no. idea it would be so high,, but, I guess I can assume its ok.. if price = value.  good luck with the method you choose,,

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
