DIDGAKNOWTHAT? - Notches for Holding License Plate Door Open when "Filling Up!"

I casually mentioned during our Zoom meeting Sunday that there are notches for using the gas cap to hold the license plate door open while filling up and a couple of members indicated they did not know that so I thought it was worth posting here.
I have a couple of other DIDGAKNOWTHAT items, and might make this into another recurring topic.

So, here is DGKT #1:

Gas Tank Filler Cap for Holding License Plate Door Open:
- simply open the license plate - filler door and wedge cap in between arrows as seen below. This is my 64, but the same thing for 63 with notches in same general area.

Wedging cap in notches makes filling up 1000x easier!

Hi Jason,

Thank you for answering my question - never knew about this (along with other things I'm sure).  I appreciate your feedback!

Thanks Jason!

Actually this is mentioned in Owner’s Manual page 37 but there is no photo.

I always open the cap with right hand and try to fit that to RIGHT SIDE vertically between the door and the chrome frame but usually it does not work.

"Actually this is mentioned in Owner’s Manual page 37 but there is no photo."   While it is mentioned in the 1964 owners manual it is not in the 1963 manual.  Regardless there is a large % of questions I get asked day to day that are right there in your owners manual.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
