Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has photos to where I need to apply new SEM seam sealer on the front of the fenders to the inner top Cowl area and the corners of the Radiator support?

I am in the process of reinstalling new painted cowls and radiator support.

I know it had factory new but did not take photos of that area.my memory is not that good from two years back.

Thank you

Don

I have ZERO experience with seam sealer locations on this vehicle nor really any other vehicle. HOWEVER, I did grinde, sand, wire brush, fabricate and stitch in new floor pans and the whole interior floor on a 77 Lincoln Town Car. I put seam sealer on anything that remotely looked like a seam. I used tubes in a caulk gun as well as a 1 qt can. I used a brush and brushed over the seam first pushing the sealer as far in as I could. Then I ran a bead like it was a bead of silicone or a welding bead. Then I made it look as best I could. I think maybe the applied area was 2" wide when I was done. Followed by a coat of paint, I think it was better than what would have been quickly sprayed on by gun at the factory.

Now, this area was going to be covered by butyl sheets and then isolation foam sheets, and then jute and carpet. So for someone to see it again, they'd be trying really hard.

The area you are asking about seems a little more visible. In that case, I may use some painters tape and tape off the area you are working for more of a finished look. Otherwise, good luck!

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
