Hey guys! I’m back with another question lol. I noticed some vibration under acceleration while not moving that I suspect may be coming from the torque converter, so I’m looking to replace it while I have my engine out. Seems like a good idea, but I’m having trouble locating a new or rebuilt converter. I found this one below (link) at AutoZone that says it fits my 1964 Cadillac Deville (429 engine w/TH400 trans) however while reading the description it states for flat top bell housing, but my TH400 is round. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or can provide a part number?

FYI guys - this torque works! Just thought that I’d share the feedback in case anyone else comes across this issue. The new torque converter does have 6 lugs, whereas the original only had 3…spoke with the rebuilder and they confirmed that it would work. It did. I used 3 of the 6 lugs to bolt up to my original flywheel.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
