Tony, I don't remember the thickness of the plastic, other than it was some medium to thick plastic I had laying around the garage. I had actually installed this cheap solution 10+ years prior and was only taping it back up as the door barrier was and is a temporary unprofessional quick fix at best. I do not like the way the duct tape seals, and the way I had to punch holes through the plastic for the items that needed to come through it. There is much better sealing material used to seal HVAC pipe, gutters, etc that you can get from home improvement stores that would be 1000% better than the duct tape. This entire project was more geared toward the rear qtr and package shelf and the dash, and only did a cursory cleaning of the door window channels, cams and tracks in order to tweak the door window operation a bit. At some point in the future all of the door hardware will be cleaned and addressed as I did with the rear qtr motors, regulators, channels, etc. My car sees little rain, and while the plastic skin will keep basic water off the door panel and from going inside the car, this was not the best solution. If anyone has good experience with replacing that wax/oil paper with a modern solution I would like to hear what you did. I really did not research as I know I will be back in the doors in the near future.
This was my very non-original approach. Not very pleased with the way it looks but the thick mil plastic keeps the moisture out. The original oil paper is almost always torn or worse.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
