Can anybody give names of a supplier of 1964 Cadillac Interiors, Door panels and trunk kits? I have sourced many parts through OPGI with great success- but they have no mention of 64 seats covers or door panels. I have their 2013 parts catalog and they have seat covers for 1963 and 1965, but no mention of 1964- will 1963 fit 1964?? They have carpet for 1964 also which is good- but no door panels. They do however have door panels for newer cars such as 1971 to 1976. What does one do if they need 1964 door panels? I know the trunks came with cardboard panels, but I have seen trunks with nice carpet at car shows- I wonder if these are all custom made OR can a carpet trunk kit be purchased? Lastly does anyone have a pic of the correct position of the spare tire and jack in a 1964 Cadillac trunk? Thanks for any info.

Keep in mind when you say "1964 Cadillac" that is covering 11 body styles across 3 different body series with its own distinct styling. No complete door panel set is the same from one body style to another, not even in the same body series.  The 62 series, DeVilles, and Fleetwoods/Eldos all have their own very different door panels, seat designs, and interior materials and layout. (see picture below of 4 window Sedan Series 62 vs 4 window Sedan DeVille) Even between the same body series the where you might think they are the same there are differences. For example, due to different in shape of the rear door the 4 window sedans (6239, 6339) have different rear door panels than the 6 window sedans (6229, 6329).  According to the 1964 Spec manual you have will 124 upholstery options available across the 11 body styles, which sounds about right given the fact each body style generally offers 6 to 8 standard trim code/colors, + several optional offerings depending on body style.

The point is you are not going to find a catalog listing say the 1964 6 window DeVille Door panels in Lt Blue Dorchester (Trim code 43), or say a 1964 4 window Series 62 in Turquoise Doncaster, etc, etc.

What you will have to do if wanting to restore your car to original is get the original materials depending on your body style and trim code from SMS Auto Fabrics and let your upholstery shop re do your seats and door panels with the original materials. If your local shop does work with older car restorations SMS restorations is probably on their speed dial. When I had my seats and door panels done with the dover sandalwood fabric in my 1964 CDV I let m y interior shop order direct from SMS (they get a discount) and they installed the new material. Same with the carpet..they sent SMS the trim code, a small sample from under the seat, and the carpet description from the Spec Manual (also here on our Help Page under Carpet).

Another option is the take your car to a professional restoration shop such as Jenkins Restoration here in NC but don't expect to see your car back for a while and plan to have deep pockets.  I know OPGI sells a couple of seat covers for the 63's and remember it being more like the DeVille but definitely not correct for the 62 series or Fleetwoods. It's all a matter of what you are after.  Regardless you have to remember the interiors are very different between body styles.

The same goes for the trunk. You can take your original trunk cardboard and send to SMS, Jenkins Restoration, or a professional restoration shop but it's going to be much more expensive than the black flat cardboard available at USA, etc with has none of the original seams and ribbing, much less the original speckle board.

As far as the Spare Tire location that depends on the Body Style as described at this link on our Trunk Compartment Interior Help Page at http://6364cadillac.ning.com/profiles/blogs/trunk-compartment-interior

Here is the example of 62 series vs Deville 4 window interiors.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
