I've got a couple questions for those in the know.
What years Cad V hood ornament will interchange? One point is broken on mine. Anyone have one?
OK, so I must be just dumb. How the heck do you get the driver door panel off?. I know there's screws on the bottom, nails on the sides. I can get the control panel up to disconnect. Inside door handle? etc?
Also, the wiper/washer motor and switch - what years interchange?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Tom,
It's great to have you with us. I caught one error in re-reading my post. It should have said plastic and not metal in the following:
63 & 64 wiper/washer motor assembly will interchange however you will usually see a metal cover over the washer pump assembly on the 63 vs the plastic one on the 64.
Thanks Jason for all the great info. With you, Russ and others on this board willing to share your knowledge, keeps these fine old cars rolling down the road.
Thanks again.

63 hood V smaller than 64,
63 & 64 wiper/washer motor assembly will interchange however you will usually see a metal cover over the washer pump assembly on the 63 vs the plastic one on the 64.
Driver door panel...here's a rough rundown...might miss something.
Remove door lock know, arm rest switch panel, and disconnect connectors at switches. door handle chrome finish cover at front of arm rest pad, door handle, mirror handle, perimeter screws around bottom and sides of door panel, large screws threw ends of the door pull handles, vent window handle (if manual vents) using special tool.
Pry panel away starting at bottom and working your way up. Some use ring shang type nails to press in the side top areas...they will need to be pried back.
Lift door panel up off top of door metal, the lower front section so that mirror rod slides out of mirror chrome guide, then pull up and away from door disconnecting courtesy light connector (64 has courtesy light in rear of arm rest, and 62 series does not have a light, so it all depends on body style and year. )

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
