Like a Kid in a Cadillac Candy Store....

I am like a kid in a Cadillac Candy Store when I am pulling these cars apart. This one was especially fun since it matches my personal 1964 CDV and several parts off this car have already found their way to 'Dino!". Weather Permitting I will knock most of this car out this weekend.  Tools are set, and I am ready to GET IT ON!

Hey Jason, let me know if you think they're in decent enough shape to use for my car. I could really use them.

James, I have one in the drive way and 10 in boxes in the parts buildings!  If you need something in particular email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com with specifics. Be sure to include body style as there were 12 in 1963. When I don't have something I will add to my "Wait List".  When I get a new parts car in and dismantle it, and pick thru what I might want for my 64 CDV, I will then go to the top of the list, scanning for CLC Chapter Members first, then go back up and down the list.

Just to add for anyone that needs a 64 Coupe Front bench seat core spring set or Rear Coupe Hard Top seat set, they would be yours free for the taking but you would need to pick up by Aug 30-31, and would need advance notice by this Monday as I may take it on to the metal yard early this coming work week unless Chris, or someone wanted to come get the body (or seats) Aug 30-31. Note the front bench seat springs is just that, just the core seat spring lower, 2 uppers and fold down center. All unde carriage and trim has been removed and is for sale. Motor was tested, and the 6 way seat transmission went out last week. Cables, rails, motors, and trim are all very nice. The front seat has been recovered with a plain red vinyl material.

Christopher. There are sections of bondo (note in front of the RH wheel well opening.)  I'm taking a cool down break and about to head back and will be working I the rear qtr area and will look at it close. Timing will be critical if you wanted to get this body as I need to get it moved quickly as I already have another parts car in front of it and I'm really not supposed to have more than one non-running car carcass here in downtown Garner, NC. I've never been bothered as I tuck them over by the hedges but don't want to chance it, plus I need to get to the 63.  With that I probably would need to have it picked up (or parts cut out) weekend of Aug 30-31.

How are the rear quarter panels on this parts car Jason? I can't bring myself to cut up that convertible that I bought from you.

Ended up using all 3 pedals and trim (emergency, brake, accelerator) off this car, door lick knobs, radio knobs, even some finish screws. Main items I have set aside are the complete AC/Heat comfort control looking to go through mine has Joe is going through his now. Of course the other 4,900 parts of the 5000 I am not going to use are up for sale! :-)

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
