My '64 deVille Convertible passenger side door is sagging to the point where it is almost impossible to shut. I attempted loosening the door with a jack under it, lifting the door and re-tightening, but had no success. Do I need to replace the door pins that go inside the hinge, and if so, where do I buy them? Any tips, or advice is much appreciated,

Chris

Hi Mike, I have several good right passenger side hood hinges but no decent left driver side hinges. You might contact our other in house parts suppliers listed up top on the Parts Suppliers page. Perhaps someone will see this and respond to you.  I can put you down for one on my "needs list" if you email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com.

Jason.

Haha, glad that I caught you in a good mood! My passenger side window has broken 2 times from people slamming my door to shut it and I have had it. I'll take both of them and send you the paypal payment tonight. I took a second look at the door and realized that the pins are definitely not coming out lol. Thanks Jason.

Those 2 door doors often have loose worn out front hinges.  The best option are night right fronts (same hinges) that came off a 4 door. That is what I did on my 163K mile 64 CDV. I'm in a good mood and will sell you a complete  2 pc set nice and tight for $25 + $10 s/h for a total of $35. That's about 1/2 price. If you want to replace all 4 I would go $45 + $11 s/h).

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
