63/63 Owners,
The clock in my '64 just went out. It appears that the mechanical component is working properly, so I think the coil has failed. I contacted Jerry at Clockworks and he advised that he cannot repair a clock with a burned out coil because he no longer has coils available. Any recommendations on where I can get it repaired?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Very Respectfully,
Mike Vogler

Hi Mike,
I know that one of our members, Pat Westphal, repairs clocks for Cadillacs. See if you can reach him and ask about the coil. I have his information. My email (you may have it still) is ddibari56@gmail.com. He was a GM engineer.

Hi Mike,
I have a parts clock and the coil appears good, ohms out. I have no use for it.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who offered assistance with my clock!!
I did some reading about old mechanical car clocks last night. So, today I removed clock from the dash again and opened it up. Upon close inspection, the coil did not appear to be burned and the wires were intact. I sprayed the contact points with contact cleaner and gently filed the points with the small file on my nail clippers. :-D I then lubricated the clock and reinstalled it. Bingo! It works just fine!.
Thanks again.
Mike
Great news Mike! So glad you got it working!

Hi Mike,
You probably know this, but the ground is the linchpin with our clocks. Sometimes you line them up and twist them clockwise and it takes a slight twist/jiggle to start them. GLAD you got it working. I sanded the back of the clock rim, where it makes contact to the dash, and it helped.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
