Check out Menards they have the big AC deacons batteries with top posts , check your dimensions of your old battery and the placement of the + & -  posts  and figure out if your hold down will work . Good luck

You have a few choices. You can go all out and purchase a original style replica per this article from the Help topics tab in the header above: https://6364cadillac.ning.com/profiles/blogs/original-battery-and-c...

Personally I bought a group 24 Duracell  battery from Batteries Plus Bulbs and have been happy with it, It is close to the size of the original battery, just slightly narrower - group 24:(10.25 x 6.8125 x 8.875) vs group 60: (13 1/16 x 6 5/16 x 8 7/8). It still fits nicely in the original battery tray. I did put some plastic strips along the right & left sides of the tray to take up the extra space. I also peeled off all the labels and dressed it up with some 3-D printed battery caps and a Delco label.

John, I just noticed you said your car is a 64. The battery hold-down was changed in 64 to go across the 13 1/6" length of the battery unlike my 63 where it goes front to back across 6 5/16" (6.8125"on group 24). As far a I can find now the group 60 replica is no longer produced. Unless you can find a similar sized battery, you will have to use a different hold-down. I'm sure some 64 guys will chime in with their solutions

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
