Yesterday, Parts Car #58 from Tallahassee, Florida had it's Booty pushed up in the air so I can remove the rear end .. the last step in my take down process. I normally get it way up there as you see in the picture then spray all those 3/4" nuts with PB Blaster then walk away from it for a day. I wanted to get to it today but got busy with the house addition project and best I could do today was get some pictures.
Speaking of pictures, I take a lot! When I come a cross a good condition brake setup I will get a few pictures like the one below just for reference. There are so many parts involved with the brakes, and the pictures really help me id everything. I have taken these same shots over and over but if I see a good setup the digital pictures are free and will often snap away. These days I normally completely disassemble the brake parts still up on the car hauler with rear end up in the air. It just makes it easier with the brake stuff right there in my face. Each and every brake component goes into separate containers that then go into boxes for Front Brakes or in this case Rear Brakes. I also keep the shop manual illustrations printed out and in the box and actually live pictures so I can find the parts fast.
One other thing I might mention in this ramble, is the fact I am now 1000% more aware of the nuts and bolts as I take these items apart since I know they will be headed to the cadmium plater's at some point. Before, I saved everything but now I know the really good conditioned stuff is really going to look nice with new plating. So.. that is tonight's Booty Ramble.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
