Hi all. my 63 has developed squeaks and creaks recently. I took a look at the ball joints and associated rubber parts, and they do look a bit worn. I have replaced shocks in last year or so. When I bounce the front ends, you can hear the squeak and "feel" the squeak when you put your hand on the upper control arm. I put some oil on them to try and settle it down for temporary relief. I feel like Uncle Buck riding around with the squeek at stop lights!! the prior owners that had the car since orig purchase kept meticulous records and I cant find any efforts to replace them. That would mean they have 175k miles on them.
So I was wondering if it would be wise to replace the control arms with the newer configurations or just replace the ball joints and associated rubbers. Would the newer engineered arms be worth it ride wise? and if so, is any cutting or refitting required. and further, is there any kit that anyone could recommend??

I meant to make this a priority over the winter and didn't get that far. I've tried to source all the parts individually, but that is a daunting task. Partly because I don't want to miss any…Continue

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
