"Just to add a couple of comments, any 5/8" heater hose with a good dogleg bend can be used to replace the original heater hose.  The 19037 is a good substitute hose (longer than you need), but there are others. I have inserted a picture of…"

Hello,      My 63 convertible is a low mileage (34k) original car so while I've done some basics, like replacing radiator hoses, belts, and a few gaskets; I've been trying to leave things as is as much as possible.  My heater core hose was original and had a bit of the factory blue paint over spray on it.  This is the one that is routed over the top of the valve cover on the passenger side.  Unfortunately the damn thing blew out the other day in 106 heat and I had to replace it.  As usual the…See More

1963 Pertronix III installation

Hello,      I was helping a CLC friend with some of his cars last week and as I was driving his 55 coupe to another location it hesitated, stalled and quit running.  I thought it was out of gas, but it turned out that there was sufficient fuel so we hauled her back and I went to my next guess which was condenser failure.  Turned out I was right and we fired her right up after replacing that D60..  This prompted me to get a Pertronix III and install it in my 63 series 62 convertible as soon as I…See More

Welcome Ken! I read in your chapter email that you picked up a 63 convertible (Ken is head of the CENTRAL TEXAS CLC Chapter).

I can't wait to see the car...whenever we are allowed to meet in groups again.

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
