Norm & Janette McIntosh - 1964 DeVille Convertible
I wanted to send an update to all of our 63/64 Cadillac Website Members and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year before I head out later today for a short beach trip Dec 24-28 for a quiet birthday and Christmas celebration with my wife Cheryl and our two Yorkies. It is a transitional period for me as I will be retiring from NC Department of Revenue as IT Manager on Dec 31, 2014, turning 50 on Dec 26, and looking to devote more time to the chapter, the website, the Cadillac LaSalle Club and my parts business.
I had hoped to have a newsletter ready to go out by Christmas, but I have been so busy and getting such a late start it will be January. We do have two 1964 75 series we will be spotlighting as we wrap up our detailed look at each 1964 body style. I will also look to refine the website and make it a better experience. Probably, the most aggressive challenge will be completing the ongoing 1963 & 1964 Authenticity Manual. We also want to continue to spotlight our members and member cars with newsletter stories so be thinking (and writing) about what we can include. As a big proponent of the CLC, I also want to reach out and bring many of you into the CLC family that have not already joined. Being an active member, going to Grand Nationals, participating with local regions, taking part in driving tours, really does take our enjoyment to the next level.
I will also expand my commitment to Classic Cadillac Parts, and will become more involved in the restoration of and servicing the parts I sell. Since I started selling parts on the side almost 18 years ago, I have been in a reactive mode, basically dismantling, storing and packing and shipping parts as customers request them. Going forward, I will be proactively focused in helping my fellow Cadillac Owners in their restoration and enjoyment of their Cadillac and my own 1964 Coupe DeVille. My goal will continue to offer fair and reasonable prices and not gouge customers, as I share their same commitment to restoration, and improvement of your Cadillac. In this endeavor I look forward to working with everyone for many years to come.
I have attached a PDF Overview of Classic Cadillac Parts which you can see by clicking on About Classic Cadillac Parts. You can also always find me at www.ClassicCadillacParts.com
With that..... HERE'S TO A GREAT 2015!
Jason.

Cheryl and I just got back from a wonderful quiet Christmas, Birthday, & Retirement Vacation at Atlantic Beach, NC from Dec 24 to Dec 28. We love the NC "Crystal Coast" area this time of the year as you can see the sun rise and set over the ocean since it is a South facing beach and the sun is low in the sky this time of year. Each day we had spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The first picture below was what I was treated to on my Birthday the morning of Dec 26 (I’m 50 Now!); the second one is a sunset picture, the third one of me with the Yorkies Priscilla and Presley; the fourth one is Cheryl witih the yorkies, and since it was Christmas day, me with the silly elf hat on with Priscilla.
There are also some great hiking trails at the Pine Knolls Shores NC Fish Aquarium and at the Fort Macon museum. They have a pooch friendly hotel called the Sea Hawk Inn and Villas that is a smaller older place but clean and price is very reasonable. They actually left us the key to our room and let us stay Dec 24/25 for free since they did not have any staff on hand. I think there were only 2 other couples at the place during Christmas.
As I retire from my job from NC Dept of Revenue as an IT Manager in two days, I look forward to seeing where my Cadillac Ventures take me. I will probably not completely abandon the world of IT as I love technology and look forward to brushing up on my HTML and website skills. I have also been serving as the CLC Facebook Group Admin since last year's GN and look forward to seeing how far we can push and develop that site and our own 1963/64 Cadillac Websites. Of course reaching out and growing our CLC chapter membership will always be a top priority and will become more more proactive in that respect in the coming weeks, months and years.
With that, here are those pictures from our Christmas Vacation (definitely better than the Griswalds!):

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
