My power antenna motor operates in both directions, however the mast doesn't raise or lower, although I can do it manually. For the time being, I have disconnected the motor. I recall reading about a guy who replaces the unattached/broken cable in these units. The price was very reasonable, and I believe he was in TN somewhere. I'm also sure that the link to this person was on this website, but have been unable to find it.
I am thinking about placing this Caddy with a classic car consignment business, and I want everything to be working properly. I absolutely love the car, and have just ordered the correct green rubber OEM-style floor mats for it. Unfortunately, another unique Cadillac that I have been interested in for years just became available, but I have no room in my garage for both of them.

Caddy Daddy has the replacement antennas.
Thanks Tony and Russ for your replies. Russ, I had already seen that Caddy Daddy has the replacement mast-only setup, but the accompanying you-tube video on how to mate it up with the rest of the unit is a little too complex for both my skill level and luck. They will do a total rebuild for $299, but I don't believe I need that, since the motor is still working properly, and the cosmetic repainting of the hidden unit is not important to me.
I know the person who just offered the service of replaced the broken or disconnected nylon cord was less $ than this, but I still can't find that resource, and I have checked other sites that I infrequently visit. I suspect that I will end up paying for more work than I actually need in order to get this fixed.
That video is showing a complete rebuild. If you buy a mast you don't need to rebuild everything, just remove the old broken mast and install the new. It winds in a cup adjacent to the motor.
The point being if you get a new Nylon cord installed on your old mast you will still have to mate it to your old motor assembly.
Just to add, if anyone IS doing a complete rebuild I do have a large set of mast tubes being cad plating for a like new appearance. Just one of the many items that I am having cad plated while I can.
HERE is the Caddy Daddy Link. I am surprised they don't want Carl Sagan money for it. $139 is not that bad. USA Parts sold them for $99.50 in 1995.
I can rebuild your antenna for 175.00 plus return shipping. The new mast will be installed and the gears will be lubed.
Just send me an email to; russ@thecadishack.com to get started.
Thank-you, Russ. My plan is to remove the assembly from the car today. When that is done, I will get in touch with you.

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
