"Been a long time since I removed mine to have my dash redyed, but I'm pretty sure it was secured from the other side. You'll have to remove the dash to do it. This brace in this picture I attached should be what keeps it in place. "

1963 Fleetwood door bumper sizes question for CLC forum

The CLC forum had this question:Hello to all, I am trying to replace all the door bumpers in my 63 Fleetwood 4 door. I've looked around and found there are different sizes. I was going to measure the ones that I thought were on the car but when I looked they were all gone. I have no idea what sizes belong where. I looked for diagrams and pictures online with no luck and my shop manual tells me nothing. I'm hoping someone could help me here. Thank you, George…See More

Self-Starter article on the 429 engine series

Posted on May 18, 2013 at 10:31am 3 Comments

I would like to obtain a copy of the Self-Starter's article on the 429 engine series.  I think it was originally published in the July 2003 edition.  Does anyone have a copy to share or any ideas of how to obtain a copy?

Thank you.

very good info  on the rear crank seal --leak repair

at the link below

looks like many will deal  or have dealt with this issue at some time, when owning our fine cars

the 10-40 motor oil mentioned in the artical should help with a leak issue

Torque converter grab when idling in Drive

Posted by Cliff Johnston on June 14, 2021 at 8:47pm 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, been quite a while since i have been on here.

I have had an issue with the idle on my 64 Coupe Deville ever since i have had it.

With the Idle set high enough that it is smooth, but still a nice idle, the RPM seems only slightly too high for the stall of the Torque Converter. And therefore it tends to sit there and grab and lunge a bit. So until now, i have been putting the car in Neutral at the lights to stop this happening.

I've had the car dyno tuned and…
